Ever wanted to go Vegan but was unsure of how to go about it? Look no further than this post!
As a part of a school project, I am going to be starting a challenge for my family, friends, peers, coworkers and blog readers in which you will adopt Veganism for One Day of the Week (for a month), One Full Week or One Full Month!
At the Mindfully Miranda HQ
(aka my bedroom), I strive to be unbiased in my viewpoint regarding nutrition when I write each blog post, and I still firmly believe that I shouldn’t impose my beliefs on any of you. I can honestly say that this is entirely voluntary and simply a means for me to inspire and guide anyone who may be interested in a Vegan Lifestyle, into trying it for at least One Day/Week/Month.
I have done in-depth research regarding the nutrition aspect of a Vegan Diet, and can stand by the fact that when approached seriously and conscientiously, a Vegan Diet provides you with an array of nutrient-dense, antioxidant rich, delicious and incredibly healthy foods to choose from. Studies have been done by Harvard Health, NCBI, and the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition to research the health effects of a vegan diet, and it has been proven that eating a plant-based, vegan diet can lower your risk of heart disease, diabetes and other chronic diseases. It has also been shown that Vegans consume a more nutrient-dense diet (think lot’s of vitamins, antioxidants and minerals) overall, and typically FEEL better, which is the main goal I have with sharing my blog with all of you!
I want you to feel your best inside and out, and live your version of a healthy, happy life, and perhaps you can do that through looking into Veganism! (And if not, that’s totally cool, if you have found something that works for you, I respect that and salute you! Keep up the awesome work!)
Although I am an advocate for healthy living, and have achieved my own balance through a Vegan Diet, I originally chose to become Vegan due to Animal Rights. Over 56 billion animals that live on Factory Farms are killed each year by humans. In slaughterhouses, more than 3,000 animals die every second, and these numbers don’t account for the mental and physical debilitation and suffering that these animals will endure for their short lives. This, along with the positive global and environmental effects of choosing to abstain from buying or eating animals products drove me to make a commitment to my own health, as well as that of the environment and animals.
