Talkin’ Tuesdays

I have nothing to say other than my lack of posts lately has really got me feeling unlike myself lately and that is so not cool! Truth be told, I’ve been so crazy busy trying to settle into the new house, catch up with life and keep up with my daily routine that I just haven’t had the free time to sit down in front of my desktop and do some quality writing. Good news, I do have a recipe lined up for this week, and I can’t wait to share it with you all! Here’s a hint; it’s only 3 ingredients and falls under the dessert category (my fave)! Anyways, today I figured I’d do another catch up post of things I’ve been loving lately (food, workouts, random stuff, etc.)!

I’m a creature of habit, so I see no wrong in doing my usual and starting where the good stuff is – the food! #eats

Greek yogurt, farm fresh local strawberries (love) & Silver Hills toast with PB and banana? Add a big mug of tea to the mix and this breakfast is pure heaven. Healthy fats, good bacteria, and some energy-boosting grains are a perfect way to start the day.

IMG_1087Hopefully toast isn’t getting too boring for you all just yet, but I had to share this breakfast because it includes my favourite (actually my mum’s) new find; Woolwich Dairy Wholesome Goat Chevre spread. This stuff is packed with protein and goat’s milk is naturally easier to digest than that of a cow’s making it my favourite choice. I topped this slice with cherry tomatoes, and the other with the usual suspects (like I said before, I’m a creature of habit).

IMG_1071Want to know how to make life-changing easy oatmeal? Place 1/2 c. rolled oats, 1/4 c. liquid egg whites, 1/4 c. almond milk & 1/4 c. water along with 3 pitted and chopped dried dates in a bowl in the fridge overnight. In the morning, top with a bit more water and microwave for about 2-3 minutes. Let it cool down, top with PB and cinammon & you’ve got it!

IMG_1047And to change up the style a bit, here’s a view of my dinner from the other night! One of my favourite things about this time of year is the fresh seafood, and this salad did not disappoint! Shrimp, avocado, peppered salmon on a bed of greens and tomatoes – so damn good!

Now onto the fitness! 6am workouts have been my jam lately, and nothing motivates me to get up that early in the morning other than a Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide workout! These never fail to kick my butt and leave me feeling super strong and empowered afterwards! If you haven’t joined #KaylasArmy yet, you best get on it soon! Going to the beach on a whim because it is so close that that is now a reality! Seriously, I’m living the dream – so blessed.

Open house parties – this is the cake we had for our first open house from last weekend. I absolutely love spending the quality time with friends and family, enjoying good food, lot’s of laughter and the little joys of life!

And finally, quiet mornings with this little rascal/cutie/pretty boy – Oliver. He likes to have staring competitions with me on our staircase (or as I like to call it #TheGrind, it’s literally like 15 stairs from one level of my house to the next).
